Job Description

General Summary: 

Primary responsibilities of a Tender (DCBC) are to support diving operations and assist where needed. Once the Tender has been assigned to a Diver, it is their responsibility to tend that Diver from start to finish of the dive.

Primary Functions:

  • Ensure that the life support equipment is functioning properly
  • Manage Divers umbilical while Diver is in the water 
  • Prepare equipment and tools for the Diver
  • Keep the deck clean and organized
  • Assist the Diver in dressing and undressing of diver gear 
  • Set up and operate all equipment as directed by the supervisor
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diving equipment
  • Assist in topside work as required or directed
  • Operate a decompression chamber as required for decompression or treatment. May be required to ride the chamber with the diver during compression or treatment. This inside tender must be familiar with and alert for the symptoms of oxygen toxicity.
  • A tender that dives shall be subject to the duties and responsibilities of a diver within the limitations of the assignment
  • Rigging of equipment
  • Load out of jobs in shop
  • Attend daily safety meetings when offshore and if working in the shop
  • Work with a mentor and complete the mentoring process
  • Perform any and all other duties that may be assigned to meet the business needs of the company

Work Schedule

 Hourly rate. Location and duration varies.

Qualifications & Specifications

Education:

Diploma from an accredited diving school.

Experience Required:

  • DCBC Preferred
  • Tender 2 - Entry level (0 years of experience)
  • Tender 1 - 1 to 2 years of experience
  • Knowledge of the following tools and equipment preferred:
    • Rigging gear (straps, slings, knots)
    • Air Compressors
    • Tuggers
    • Volume Tanks
    • Burning Gear
    • Hydraulics
    • Jet Screw

Certificates/Licenses Required:

  • ADC Certification
  • Fit for Diving physical
  • TWIC card
